It was found that the longer a man went without masturbating, the higher the number of sperm in their partner's "flowback." Based on this finding, they labeled male masturbation as a natural way to shed old sperm and make room for new, fitter sperm.

In females, orgasms, which are often obtained through masturbation, are also attributed to higher sperm retention. It is also believed that orgasms give women an incentive to have more sex, and therefore increase their chances of procreating.

The Benefits of Masturbation

Although there may be an evolutionary reason for why the habit of masturbation has stuck around for so long, the lists of benefits from the act of self-pleasing do not end with fertility. The orgasm so often achieved as a result of masturbation releases endorphins into the body. The good news is that masturbating will not give one hairy palms, make one go blind, or ruin future experiences of sexual intercourse. I'll love to appeal to Nigerian entertainers to stop the habit of going about cap in hand begging for votes each time they are nominated for awards. If your materials are good enough and the award process is transparent, I see no reason why you should go about embarrassingly soliciting for votes like a politician. No award should be given based on public opinion. There should be a "competent" panel of judges selected to review the nominated materials and advise the organisers who the winners should be. It calls to question the motives of award organisers. Same goes for the numerous music talent shows in Nigeria today.

Have you ever wondered why all telecoms companies in Nigeria have a talent hunt show attached to their names? It is very simple. Television is the biggest means of communication in the country today. It reaches millions of people residing in cities, towns and villages (those who are lucky enough to have electricity). You can find a wide variety of entertainment on TV daily. From soap operas for (jobless) housewives, news for the working class to catch up on the happenings across the country after a hard day's work, cartoons for kids and of course the talent shows for the gullible enthusiast who has been tricked to thinking he or she decides the participant's future via the organiser's voting system.

A lot of Nigerians may never realise how much money they spend voting on these talents shows because they don't get a monthly giant-sized telephone bill. The telecom companies have washed the public clean with detergent because it doesn't look like the voting is going to stop anytime soon. With the amount of talents claimed to be harvested yearly, one would think that by now Nigeria should be the world's leading exporter of talent.

Every day on TV, we see a bunch of unknown individuals locked up in a house together, begging for our votes. I do agree that voting makes the masses feel like a part of any competition and it also gives them a sense of importance. But the question is; why do they bother asking us to vote when they have already employed judges to decide the winners? Isn't it criminal requesting people to spend their hard earned money voting when it's obvious those votes don't determine eventual winners? And seriously, does it occur to the telecoms companies that a great percentage of the masses don't have the required qualification for judging what a real talent is? Won't their votes be influenced by factors such as regionalism and tribalism?

And what do they have judges on the show for? They are invited and asked to judge the contestant and you still ask the public to vote for the most deserving? So these experienced, eminent personalities are defined by the public's opinions? Why invite judges to the show when you are going to put your money making tactics to use anyway?

The point of talent hunts is to search for the best. And almost always, the best get eliminated because they did not appeal to the Nigerian audience. Is it fair to manipulate audiences to increase SMS income at the cost of shattered dreams? What do we vote for? To see disappointed faces go back home because they didn't get enough votes? To see talented individuals who have sacrificed a lot to get where they are, discouraged by the masses inability to discern what true talent is? Should the public be allowed to choose the best as opposed to a panel of fair judges with experience? We also have to consider the contestants who have worked really hard to fulfill their dreams in these reality shows hoping they will be given a fair opportunity by a group of competent judges. Since I have been watching most of these talent shows in Nigeria, there has been no indication whatsoever that public votes count or will ever count.

The entire voting thing is a sham. It is only a money-making machine that makes a fool out of the unsuspecting public.

SMS voting is a very lucrative method of making millions out of an ignorant public.

Do the telecoms companies care who wins? Finally it is the general public that is the biggest loser. Even the participants have already amassed great fame being on TV. They have become known to the industry. And if they are talented, somebody is going to employ them. While the TV stations have already made millions out of the advertising sponsors of the show, the judges are paid huge amounts by the producers. A mediocre singer from a wealthy family with money to spend might become the winner because they have all the money to purchase recharge cards for friends and family members to vote as many times as required.

What is the public's knowledge of music? Does even 10 per cent of the voting public know one music note from another or can they even make wild guesses at saying where the participating singer goes wrong, or misses a note? The public only knows that a participant comes from 'my area,' she is beautiful and sexy with sumptuous lips and nice body curves. And so the most inappropriate person wins only because of the greed of the telecoms companies.

A music talent hunt show is supposed to be the "music world cup", and the decision making should be left to the umpires not the spectators. You can imagine if winners of all sporting competitions are determined by votes, China would be unstoppable.

who until his death was a 300 level Electrical Engineering student at Covenant University, Otta in Ogun State.

According to reports, Chinedu left his parent's house in the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2014, to a Hospital in Yaba, Lagos for medical reasons and never returned. He reportedly left home with about N6000 and that was the last time he was seen alive.

The mysterious disappearance of Chinedu, caused a stir as the parents ran helter-skelter, in search of him to no avail.  They  gathered from some family members that one of his friends called on phone earlier that morning to tell him to meet him at an undisclosed hotel.

KIDNAP

Crime Guard  learnt that at about mid-day,the victim's father, Jude Okere, received an SMS notifying him that Chinedu had been kidnapped. Later, he received a phone call from a hidden number demanding N10 million ransom for the release of his son. The caller allegedly threatened to kill the victim if the parents refused to comply as the line went dead.

FATHER'S TESTIMONY

Chinedu's  father said: " At about mid-day, I received an SMS that John had been kidnapped. Later, I received a phone call from a hidden number. The caller said they had my son, Chinedu and demanded N10 million as ransom threatening to kill him if we refuse to comply. Immediately, I inquired who the caller was, the line went dead. My wife and I quickly reported the case to the Divisional Police Station at Sabo, Yaba."

After the case was reported to the Police at Sabo, Yaba, it was later transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja the next day where investigations commenced.

DEAD BODY IN A HOTEL ROOM

It was learnt that initially when the whole issue started, the family of the victim felt it was a kidnap that would just be resolved but unfortunately, as events continued to unfold, it turned out to be a premeditated murder. Shockingly, the decomposing corpse of Chinedu was discovered in one of the rooms at 'DE Homes Hotel' located in Ejigbo by one of their staff, two days later.

According to reports, the Manager of the hotel went to Ejigbo Divisional Police Station on Friday, 8, 2014, to report the case of murder and investigation began.

HOW SUSPECTS CHECKED INTO HOTEL

A reliable source in the hotel intimated that early on Wednesday morning, the prime suspect, Okorocha Michael along with another young man simply identified as Okey,checked into the hotel with the name Christian. "He booked the room for three days with the name Christian. He claimed he is a youth corps member who wanted to write exams and would be there from that Wednesday to Friday. He also said he was expecting his cousin to join him in the hotel.

'After booking, Michael left his friend Okey in the hotel and returned an hour before the victim, Chinedu arrived the hotel, which was at about 3pm that day. As soon as Chinedu arrived the hotel, Michael took him to the room. We don't know what happened inside the room. However, it was later gathered that during their stay in the room, the suspect reportedly confronted the victim on some personal issues. The confrontation eventually led to a heated argument, which later led to the suspect strangulating the victim to death.  On Friday, a hotel staff discovered the lifeless body of the young man and alerted the police."

ABANDONED IN A POOL OF BLOOD

According to reports, Chinedu was murdered and left in the pool of his blood by unfriendly friends, who brutally killed and abandoned his corpse, went ahead and demanded for ransom from his parents.

ARREST OF SUSEPCTS

Crime Guard learnt the 24-year-old suspect, Okorocha Michael, who was arrested on Sunday, in a friend's house around Ajah area in Lagos, is a graduate of Lagos City Polytechnic, Ikeja. He has been unemployed since he completed his youth service in February this year.

APPEAL FOR JUSTICE

A family member who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that the Okere's were willing to pay the ransom, and were still trying to get it when his corpse was discovered. 'We sincerely pray that law takes it full course, his killers brought to book and Chinedu will get the justice he deserves even in death,' the source stated.

What do you have to say about pre-marital s*x among our youths?

It is saddening that pre-marital s*x has taken over our time. In the past, most of our men would disassociate themselves with girls who have been deflowered outside wedlock. Late Flight Lieutenant Onyeka Nwakile, the Naval Pilot who died in the Air Force Mi-35 Helicopter crash on July 21st in Bama, Borno, was laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja today.

Chef cooking snake dies after cobra bites him - 20 minutes after head was cut off

How this happened is beyond me. A snake that already had its head chopped off, bites the chef trying to cook it and kills him...and it was all captured on film. The extraordinary video footage shows how a snake's head can writhe around long after it is removed from the body...

A chef preparing a dish from cobra flesh died when the snake's head bit him - 20 minutes after it was cut off.

Victim Peng Fan had been preparing a special dish made from the Indochinese spitting cobra, a rare delicacy in Asia where eating snakes is commonplace.

But when he went to throw the serpent's severed head into the waste bin, it bit him - injecting him with its fast acting venom.

Police say Mr Peng died before he could be given life saving anti-venom in hospital.

Diners who were eating in the restaurant at the time have described screams coming from the kitchen as the tragedy unfolded.

Restaurant guest Lin Sun, 44, who was in the restaurant with his wife Su at the time said: "We were in the restaurant having a meal for my wife's birthday when suddenly there was a lot of commotion.

"We did not know what was happening but could hear screams coming from the kitchen.

"There were calls for a doctor in the restaurant but unfortunately by the time medical assistance arrived the man had already died. After we heard that we did not continue with our meal."

A police spokesman said: "It is a highly unusual case but it appears to be just an accident. He prepared the snake himself and was just unlucky.

Snake expert Yang Hong-Chang - who has spent 40 years studying cobras - says all reptiles can function for up to an hour after losing body parts, or even their entire body.

Mr Yang said: "It is perfectly possible that the head remained alive and bit Peng's hand. By the time a snake has lost its head, it's effectively dead as basic body functions have ceased, but there is still some reflexive action.

"It means snakes have the capability of biting and injecting venom even after the head has been severed."

The woman said that the pastor was in a prayer session with her when he asked her to hold on to some candle stick and suddenly he forcefully pulled off her clothes
before and eventually had carnal knowledge of her in the church.

The anti-crime team attached to Odogbolu Division of Ogun State Command apprehended the pastor when the victim and her relations stormed the Police Division to notify the Divisional Police Officer of his misdeeds and to seek justice through the police.

The state's police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said 

"the matter is currently at the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Abeokuta and medical reports so far received on the matter confirmed that the pastor actually committed the offence and he has confessed to the crime. The matter will soon be charged to court."

people know what poverty really means, or are simply carried away by an abstract imagination. and that leads us to emphasis seriously what poverty really means. it is something very much less than competence. it means wants of food for a growing family, wants of cloths in the season of cold, want of shelter against the indecencies of weather, want of medical help in sickness and disease, cannot train his child in school. from the above, it could be seen that the average Nigerian is poor. who but a hypocrite or a self reluctant fool will say that such a life is a blessing. it is time people stop giving that such nonsensical views.
