A federal court in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported.

The court struck out a two-count terrorism charge against Mr. Ogwuche on Monday, after months of trial for the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people.

The court hinged its decision on lack of diligent prosecution by the state.

Mr. Ogwuche, a suspected Boko Haram member, was accused by the Nigerian government of being behind the attack.

The blast at the Nyanya Motor Park occurred during morning peak hours as residents were hurrying to work.

The government said Mr. Ogwuche fled to Sudan after coordinating the attack.

He was later repatriated to Nigeria to face charges.

The Ugandan baby who was viciously assaulted by a maid in a video that went viral last week has recovered from her injuries and is back in the loving arms of her parents. (pictured above)

According to Ugandan NTV report, the house-help, 22year old Jolly Tumuhirwe faces up to 15 years in jail for attempted murder. The lady appeared at Nakawa Magistrates Court in Uganda on Nov. 20th after police concluded their investigations. The police say she was charged under the Anti-torture Act

The court didn't grant her bail, so Jolly is currently remanded at Luzira prison in Uganda. The maid had only worked with the family for one month before she was filmed brutally assaulting the baby. And yes, the baby's father Erick Kimanzi, admitted to beating the maid after watching the video.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo over the weekend at an event rated the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan as below average. The statement which obviously didn't go down well with the present Government forced his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe to release a statement to that effect.

Here's part of what Dr. Okupe said in the statement released yesterday.

"Our attention has been drawn to comments made by a former President of this country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, regarding the performance of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

"Obasanjo had at an event over the weekend declared that he rated the President Goodluck Jonathan administration 'below average'.

"We aver that Obasanjo's comments are untrue, misleading and clearly do not tally with the facts on the ground.

"We therefore wish to assert without equivocation that in terms of performance and achievements, no administration since 1960 when Nigeria gained independence from Britain, has done as much as that of President Jonathan."

"While it is true that the present activities of the terrorists in the three north-eastern states have become more deadly in mindless killings, kidnappings and supposed territorial seizures, government has made giant diplomatic strides with our neighbouring countries in order to checkmate the crisscrossing of the insurgents.

"The military and other security agents, which have engaged the insurgents since inception, have done a great job in spite of recent challenges.

One of Britain's most dangerous sex offenders prowling a Toys R Us store for up to eight hours  before targeting a seven-year-old girl has been re-arrested again.

Leslie Foster, 63, who had just been freed from a life sentence for the knifepoint rape of a teenager, was seen loitering around the aisles before accosting the girl when she became separated from her father and brother.

As the youngster looked for a Barbie doll to buy with her birthday money, Foster sneaked up to her and said he would buy her any toy she wanted.

He then winked and exposed himself telling her: "show me your knickers and I will give you a pound and I will buy you anything in the shop."

The terrified youngster ran away from him and was found sobbing in another aisle by store staff who notified her father and brother.

Police and staff studied CCTV of shoppers at the toy store in Deepdale Retail Park in Preston, Lancs and saw Foster coming in and out of the store on five separate occasions on the day of the attack, sometimes after changing his appearance.

He was caught after a probation officer recognised pictures of him when  he appeared in a local newspaper.

It emerged he had a record for sex offences dating back almost 50 years and had served 34 years of a life sentence before being freed this time.

Today at Preston Crown Court, Foster showed no emotion as he was sent back to prison for eight years and four months after he admitted causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Antoine Pettis, 20, pictured above is charged with sexually assaulting a woman who will soon be 102.

According to ABC News, Pettis wasted no time addressing the cameras as the bailiff brought him into Milwaukee County intake court, smiling and saying "Y'all gonna make me a celebrity."

The Milwaukee man is accused of raping a 101-year-old woman in her home September 1.

According to court records, Pettis broke into the woman's home near 36th and Florist on early on September 1. The woman woke up with Pettis in her bedroom. After slapping her several times in the face, Pettis allegedly grabbed the victim's wrists and raped her.

Authorities say for just the second time in state history, investigators used the DNA of a relative to find their suspect.

The state crime lab used the DNA found on the victim's nightgown to narrow down the list of possible suspects.

Milwaukee police say they had Pettis' DNA on file from a paternity case last year.

When interviewed Friday, police say Pettis confessed to the crime.

"In light of the allegations in the criminal complaint in the case ending 5094, which are truly shocking, so I am going to set cash bail in that case in the amount requested by the state - $100,000 cash," the judge said.

Pettis expressed disbelief and refuses to sign the bond agreement. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 58 years in prison.

One of Britain's most dangerous sex offenders prowling a Toys R Us store for up to eight hours  before targeting a seven-year-old girl has been re-arrested again.

Leslie Foster, 63, who had just been freed from a life sentence for the knifepoint rape of a teenager, was seen loitering around the aisles before accosting the girl when she became separated from her father and brother.


As the youngster looked for a Barbie doll to buy with her birthday money, Foster sneaked up to her and said he would buy her any toy she wanted.


He then winked and exposed himself telling her: "show me your knickers and I will give you a pound and I will buy you anything in the shop."

The terrified youngster ran away from him and was found sobbing in another aisle by store staff who notified her father and brother.

Police and staff studied CCTV of shoppers at the toy store in Deepdale Retail Park in Preston, Lancs and saw Foster coming in and out of the store on five separate occasions on the day of the attack, sometimes after changing his appearance.

He was caught after a probation officer recognised pictures of him when  he appeared in a local newspaper.

It emerged he had a record for sex offences dating back almost 50 years and had served 34 years of a life sentence before being freed this time.

A federal court in Abuja has freed Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja. 


According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the court struck out a two-count terrorism charge against Mr. Ogwuche for want of diligent prosecution, after months of trial for the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people.

Ogwuche was repatriated from Sudan, where he fled to after the bombing of the park. He had filed a counter suit challenging the infringement of his fundamental right by the prosecutor and the court granted his prayer and dismissed the charges against him.
