Two parents have said they watched in horror as a secret camera they installed in their severely disabled son's bedroom caught a care worker physically assaulting him.

Paul and Julie Rowlands became suspicious their son was been maltreated whenever they visit him at the care home 19-year-old Zak lives, as he usually feels bad whenever they set to leave.

So the couple placed a hidden camera in his room, and alas they discovered Zak was been abused by a care worker.

Footage from the hidden camera exposed Stanley Nkenka, a care worker hitting Zak about the head, calling him a stupid boy and leaving him alone in the dark in tears. He was also seen flicking the teenager in the face with a dressing gown and later warning as he stood over him: "Right, don't come out. If you come, I hit your head."

Nkenka then hits Zak's head again before ending with a veiled threat, pointing at him: "Cross the mark..." At the end of the heartbreaking clip, autistic Zak is heard crying into his pillow in the dark bedroom.

His parents reported to the right authorities and Nkenka who is from Cameroon was charged and now jailed for 6 months.

Zak parents are now launching a campaign for cameras to be installed in all care home bedrooms to stop further abuse.

Wahala wa oo. But seriously, I wish the president can put a stop to this national embarrassment. These are our leaders, fathers, husbands, they represent Nigeria, come on…

So there was chaos in the National Assembly complex this morning as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and other members of the House were denied access to the assembly complex by security officials.

Reports say teargas canisters were fired by the police to stop some members from gaining access into the assembly complex, including the speaker. It was so messy, and the pictures say it all. There's also a video below that shows how the speaker and his supporters forced their way in despite the teargas attack. It's just sad, Continue below...

National Assembly Crisis: Police IG Did The Right Thing - Okupe

The Presidency today has backed the Inspector – General of Police, Suleiman Abba who ordered heavily armed security operatives to block the National Assembly Complex where Speaker Aminu Tambuwal and other lawmakers were prevented from gaining access to the House to preside over the deliberation on the extension of emergency rule in the North-East, Vanguard reports.

According to the Presidency, the Inspector- General of Police was not only carrying out his constitutional functions in his capacity as the number one police officer, but also carried out the assignment to protect lives and property, just as it described yesterday's incident as unfortunate.

Addressing Journalists yesterday, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe who noted that Suleiman Abba never invaded the National Assembly, but barricaded it said, "Assumption (on whether the police boss was acting on instruction from the President) should stop. The IGP is a very senior officer of the government and his duties are to enforce the law.

"He doesn't need to get the villa to enforce the law. He is not a house boy. Though he works under the government but he is expected to defend the law. IGP has the duty to enforce the law. He acted in the discharge of his duty. The IGP didn't invade the assembly. It is wrong to assume that."

" The whole scenario at the National Assembly today as we witnessed is rather unfortunate. We wish that at all times; national interest should supersede all other interests including personal and political interests.

"From Government perspective, the overriding concern today is the issue of insurgency which necessitated the request by Mr President that the National Assembly considers an extension of the State of Emergency to give the Security forces the needed legal framework and space for a successful prosecution of the war against Boko Haram terrorists.

All I can say is wow wow wow… Oh my God, If you read this 'warning' to Governor Fayose, you really won't like to be him right now. Come on, Governor Oshiomole isn't even nice when it comes to using words... Oh well...

The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday urged his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Ayodele Fayose, not to drag his (Oshiomhole) name into the "political gangsterism that has become peculiar with the Ekiti State Governor."

Oshiomhole spoke in reaction to a statement credited to the Ekiti Governor that he (Oshiomhole) shut down the Edo State House of Assembly and relocated sitting to the Government House.

The Edo Governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said that there was no crisis in state assembly, adding that 15 of the 24-member Assembly were members of the All Progressives Congress, while the other nine were of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He explained that of the nine PDP members, three were on suspension while the seat of another member had been declared vacant, which he said reduced the number of PDP lawmakers in the house.

While noting that decorum, respect and responsibility were elements of governance, Oshiomhole urged his Ekiti counterpart to "stop dropping the name of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to shore up his jaded image."

Oshiomhole said, "We find it utterly laughable and as the height of political childishness for the Ekiti State Governor to hide behind his media aides and seek to drag the name of the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, into his crude gangster tactics which he has re-introduced into Ekiti politics, less than two months after assuming office.

"If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes.

"Even a kindergarten knows that 15 is greater than 5. So if five PDP members decide to sit with three suspended members and another, whose seat was declared vacant in a chamber which is undergoing renovation, then we can at best regard that as the height of crass legislative irresponsibility.

"It is ridiculous to even contemplate that the Ekiti Governor and his media aides do not know that 15 is greater than five! For sure, they seem engrossed with their stomach infrastructure mantra, such a dubious contraption which can only be contrived by an ideologically clueless and gluttonous administration.

"But for the kind of democracy we practice in Nigeria, where the PDP promotes and condones all manners of illegalities, inanities and shenanigans which have become the second nature of that party, Ayodele Fayose would have been cooling off his heels in gaol rather than brandishing the appellation of being a Governor.

"We are thoroughly ashamed that Ekiti, hitherto known as the fountain of knowledge, is being reduced to a mindless bubble by a man running her affairs without a discernible direction like a drowning man clutching desperately at flotsam.

Buhari Launches Presidential Campaign Fund, Targets N7B

Even though INEC announced few days ago that any presidential candidate who spend over N1b on campaign will be jailed, ThisDay Newspaper reports that former Head of State and one of the presidential aspirants seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari has flagged- off an initiative to pull campaign fund from amongst his supporters in the country which will help him raise at least N7b.

The aim of the initiative is to raise about N7 billion from an estimated 70 million party supporters and admirers who will be expected to contribute a minimum of N100 each.

Addressing a group of young supporters under the aegis of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Buhari said he decided to buy into the initiative because of the in-built mechanism for ensuring accountability and transparency in its operations.

"What makes it worthy of praise is the fact that the initiative comes with its in-built mechanism for ensuring acceptability that is also transparency -friendly. If we preach accountability we should be able to practice it.

The footballer's cousin has gone on air to accuse Adebayor of neglecting them, including his own biological mother.

"For the past six years Adebayor has rejected his mother and his immediate family whilst doing charity outside on the premise that our mother is a witch," Adebayor's cousin Margaret told Peace FM in Ghana.

"We have been thinking of his future as a footballer and did not want this issue out in the media but it is becoming too much. Could you believe Adebayor ordered his machomen to sack our mother and his own mother from a house he built in Togo claiming she is a witch?

"As we speak our mother lives in an apartment rented by our junior brother, Kola Adebayor, who currently lives in Germany.

"My mother weeps bitterly about the issue every day. Anytime his mother or any of us (his close relatives) call and he realizes, he will quickly cut the line.

But Adebayor who admitted having problems with his relations, denied the allegation and sai they have been the one who have refused to come forward for the situation to be resolved.

Dr. Michael Adegbola Dominic is one of the gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Dominic who contested for the Governorship position in 2011 and lost said he only lost then because the party, APGA he contested under wasn't a popular party. He then went ahead by saying God has given him a vision to liberate Lagosians from the yoke of APC. He also spoke about how he financed some PDP court cases against Tinubu personally. Dr. Dominic just wants APC out of Lagos and he is not hiding his feelings. Check out part of his interview with Vanguard after the cut. We wish him all the best.

As a medical doctor one wonders if you are really up to it financially and otherwise?

I have undoubtedly proven my critics wrong. I knew what I wanted before embarking on this journey and I have vowed never to allow any form of distraction. I received a prophetic vision from God to liberate Lagosians from the yoke of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2015. Within two months, I have toured the entire 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). To further demonstrate my seriousness, I was the first amongst over 13 aspirants in Lagos PDP to pay the N11 million governorship form.

On what he has done for PDP

I joined PDP shortly after the 2011 elections, I have made personal sacrifices towards the advancement of the party. I have sponsored many party programmes, and also used my personal resources to institute several cases against Tinubu.

If he is threatened by the presence of such bigwigs as Senator Obanikoro, Jimi Agbaje among others in the race? He said;

I have no problem with the large number of aspirants we have in the PDP today. Let them keep coming. The only thing I know is that for a long time, I declared my intention to be governor a very long time ago. I have been consistent in my quest to get the ACN or APC out of the way. These other fellows who are aspiring under the PDP didn't believe it was possible.

But now that they know that it is possible to get these pretenders out and the fact that Lagosians are tired of them, they are now coming out to say they want to be governor. Where were they all this while? But to me, that shouldn't be a problem. Even the Bible says when the good seeds are planted, and the weeds get planted among the good seeds, we should allow both the weeds and the good seeds to grow together.

With time, harvest time will come, we will harvest the good seeds and the bad seeds will be discarded. So, that is my belief. Let everyone come out. So, the people will select the good ones and the unserious ones will be discarded.
