PDP Suspends Former Chairman, Bamanga Tukur
PDP has suspended its former chairman, Bamanga Tukur, for taking a legal action to reclaim his lost seat. According to a statement released, the party said it sanctioned Mr. Tukur for failing to explore the party's mechanisms for redress, before going to court to challenge his ouster.

Mr. Tukur had earlier asked a court to nullify his resignation in January, saying he was compelled to stand down and also to sack the current chairman, Adamu Mu'azu. But a Federal Court yesterday dismissed his prayers.

Boko Haram Planning To Bomb Apapa Seaport- Police
Western Ports Command of the Nigeria Police has raised the alarm over threat by the Boko Haram sect to bomb Lagos, with the nation's seaport in Apapa as its likely target, Tribune reports.

Commissioner of Police in charge of the Western Ports Command, Mrs Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison stated this at the inauguration of new executives of the Maritime Reporters' Association of Nigeria (MARAN) in Apapa, Lagos.


She stated that based on intelligence report it received three months ago, the deadly Islamic sect could be planning to bomb Lagos and possibly target the seaport.

"We are not taking the threat lightly at all and we encourage all stakeholders who visit the port to keep their eyes and ears open in case of the activity of the sect," said Ibifuro-Harisson who was represented by the Assistant Commissioner in charge of administration, Salem Machree.

She said as part of measures put in place to check the threat, the Police had beefed up security within and around Lagos including the port environment, just as she disclosed that Police would remain alert and vigilant at ensuring that the violent sect did not hit the ports.

It will be recalled that at least four persons were confirmed dead, when two explosions suspected to have emanated from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off near the Folawiyo Energy Depot on Creek Road, Apapa on June 25 this year.

A pregnant worker for Blackfriars Medical Practice, a GP surgery offering abortion services in Southwark, confronted Abort 67 members and asked them to stop filming to protect patient confidentiality. She tells the protesters: 'You are wrong in what you're doing. You don't know why people are doing what they're doing, but you want to be out here judging and then filming.'

The furious pregnant woman made different instances insisting why the protesters would want a young girl who got raped by a soldier to keep the baby that will make her live with the rape horror all her life. She also made examples of how some mothers will have to evacuate the babies in their wombs to save their own lives; after all they have other children who are alive and needs their care and attention too. Malala Yousafzai displays school uniform she was shot in
17yr old Pakistani education activist and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai, has donated the school uniform she was wearing when shot by the Taliban for fighting for her right to an education on Oct. 9th 2012. The uniform is on display at the Nobel Peace Center in Norway.

Speaking about her decision to show the uniform at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate exhibition, Malala said it represents her fight for the right to education.
"My school uniform is very important to me because when I was going to school I would wear it. The day I was attacked I was wearing this uniform. I was fighting for my right to go to school, I was fighting for my right to get education. This is my right, it is the right of every child, to go to school. This should not be neglected."
