It is well known that Banky W recently took time off of his schedule as a musician and Record Label Executive, for a 3 month sojourn in New York City, where he studied Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy (NYFA). While there, he completed his course, and as a result, has become quite possibly the first musician in Nigeria to write & direct 3 of his own Clips; 2 music films and a music video.

On Thursday, December 18th 2014 at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Banky W will host an exclusive "Movie Premiere" of the Clips on for a select audience of friends, colleagues in the Entertainment Industry, and society A-listers.

This event will see EME partner with the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy A series of smartphones; the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3. Mel B's husband has slammed speculation that he was responsible for her scratched and bruised appearance on The X Factor judge on Sunday. Mel B came back for the show's live final after being admitted to hospital in agony on Thursday night.

There had been no explanation from the 39-year-old former Spice Girl for her hospital admission, which caused her to miss Saturday's episode of the show.

But concerned viewers pointed out that she appeared to have 'a swollen face', a bruise on her cheek and scratches on her upper arms as she appeared for the show on Sunday night, speculating her husband, Stephen Belafonte was involved as Mel wasn't wearing her wedding ring.

Within minutes of the show starting, Twitter was inundated with extraordinary speculation over whether she could have been the subject of a physical attack from Belafonte.

Luke Robinson wrote: 'So Mel B was APPARENTLY beaten up by her husband that's why she couldn't make it last night. Hense the bruise on cheek and no wedding ring.'

 Tom Stoneman tweeted: 'Mel B's got a well iffy bruise on her cheek, scratches on the top of her arms and no wedding ring.... #xfactor.

Katy Perry Cherry wrote: 'hope it's not true about Mel B! just seems a bit odd how her "wedding ring was stolen in hospital" and she's got a bruise on her cheek..'

Tim Jones added: 'Not one to spread rumors but Mel B doesn't have a wedding ring and is sporting a nice bruise on her cheek #justsaying.'

But on Monday morning a furious Stephen, 39, hit back, saying: 'I don't usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting un true!

Mel is yet to say anything about her bruises, but one thing that is clear is, she appeared on the show without her ring.

The Sun also reports this morning that Mel has left her home and her friends are begging her not to return.

Police Shoots Musician On His Way To Headies On Sunday

An upcoming artiste, Olasore Oluwafemi, has been shot by a policeman in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The incident, which happened on Sunday at Agric bus stop, was said to have caused commotion as residents ran helter-skelter, while the policeman along with two of his colleagues fled the scene.

However, the cop was identified as Zakari, attached to the Owutu Police Division, Ikorodu.

Punch Metro learnt that the victim had an arrangement with his friend, Opeyemi Efunwole, to meet at a filing station in the Agric area.

The two men had planned to move from the filing station to a popular musical event, Headies Award, in Efunwole's private car.

Punch Metro learnt that Oluwafemi was in a commercial cab heading towards the place when a police team in a commercial bus stopped the driver.

Oluwafemi, who sat beside the driver, said, "I was told the police usually collect N2, 000 from every cab driver at the junction. So when he stopped our cab, the driver tried to reverse and he shot at the car. The bullet pierced through the cab and hit my leg. I felt terrible pains."

The cab driver was said to have driven him to the filing station where Efunwole was waiting for him.

Efunwole, who was also the manager of the victim, said he took him to a private hospital where he was given first aid.

"But we had to go to the police station for a police report to get further treatment at a general hospital.

"However, on getting to the station, the Divisional Police Officer denied that any of his men went out or shot at anybody. But later, on compassionate ground, he gave us a medical form for my friend to get further treatment.

"While the treatment was on at the hospital, I went back to the station with Oluwafemi's relatives and the cab driver to give our statements about what happened. They said they were not sure it was a policeman attached to the station that fired the shot."

Efunwole told Punch Metro that the DPO, Abayomi Oni, ordered the three policemen on duty at the time of the incident to file out with their rifles.

He said immediately they came out, the cab driver identified Zakari and said he was the one who fired the shot.

"But the DPO still called a sergeant to count their bullets. The sergeant counted 20 bullets in the rifles of the first two policemen, and when it came to Zakari's turn, the bullets were 19. But the DPO defended him and said it was 19 bullets they gave him.

"How can that be? How can they give him 19 bullets when they gave others 20?

"When the cab driver still insisted that Zakari fired the shot, the police threatened to lock him up in the cell and ordered him to shut up," he added.

The victim told our correspondent he had been asked to go for an X-ray, adding that the result showed where the bullet was lodged in his leg.

Punch Metro learnt on Monday that the bullet had yet to be removed.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Kenneth Nwosu, said, "Initially, when they got to the station, the victim said the policeman, who shot at him, was putting on mufti. Meanwhile, policemen on the road don't wear mufti.

"He was asked to identify the man who shot at him. A patrol vehicle drove in and he said it was one of the policemen there that shot at him. They were all in uniforms.

"The police pointed out he was contradicting himself. Despite that, he was issued with a form to go for treatment for safety sake, while the matter was being investigated to ascertain who allegedly shot at him.

"The case is still undergoing investigation and we will get to the roots of the matter."

Like a scene from a Nollywood home video, a 57 year-old man simply identified as Valentine, abandoned his bride to be at the registry and took to his heels during a marriage registration ceremony over the weekend at the Oredo Local Government Council marriage registry in Benin, Edo state.

It was gathered that the embattled groom allegedly abandoned the marriage formalities when he sighted his wife of 17 years who stormed the venue to disrupt the marriage.

Sources close to the family of Mr. Valentine disclosed to journalists in Benin that the runaway groom had in the past approached marriage registry in several courts in a different locations in Delta state where he was said to secretly contracted another marriage.

He was said to have perfected plans to formalise his relationship secretly with his latest lover when on the said day, he invited few of his trusted friends to witness the occasion.

Information about the arrangement of the new marriage was said to have leaked to his first wife who had four children for him, and she subsequently mobilised other women who stormed the venue to disrupt the administration of marital vow.

The embattled wife was said to have narrated to the bewildered crowd that her husband abandoned his responsibilities to the family since he got involved with his new spouse, adding that, several attempts to save the marriage did not yield the desire results.

"I had to do this because I'm convinced my husband must have been bewitched by the lady because since the rumour began making rounds he has stopped taking care of his four children. Each time he is confronted to provide money for our upkeep he often complained of not having money," she allegedly narrated.

It was gathered that she threatened to take legal action against the council should they go ahead on a later date to wed them insisting that she remains his legal wife.

TeeA held on to the bottom part of my skirt and got his trousers ripped in the process of not letting me off the edge, thank God there was something to hold on to. Buruji Kashamu, the Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in South-West, on Monday said President Goodluck Jonathan was on divine mission to salvage Nigeria.

"President Jonathan is a man on a divine mission. God is not yet done with the President and Nigeria," Kashamu told newsmen in Lagos.

The PDP chieftain urged Nigerians to support Jonathan in 2015, describing him as "an agent of change".

"I urge all Nigerians and the good people of the South-West to reject hard liners.

"President Jonathan has remained focused and unfettered. In spite of all the abuses and needless provocation, the president keeps saying he has no enemies to fight.

"This shows the mindset of the president and his love for all," Kashamu said.

He said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had recorded more successes in its court cases under the Jonathan administration than any other administration.

"There is a higher level of accountability and transparency in the management of our Excess Crude Account, Foreign Reserve as well as oil proceeds unlike what obtained in the past.

"For the first time in over 20 years, the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) are being audited at the instance of President Jonathan," Kashamu said.

He said that there was respect for freedom of expression and civil liberties under the Jonathan's administration.
