Two parents have said they watched in horror as a secret camera they installed in their severely disabled son's bedroom caught a care worker physically assaulting him.

Paul and Julie Rowlands became suspicious their son was been maltreated whenever they visit him at the care home 19-year-old Zak lives, as he usually feels bad whenever they set to leave.

So the couple placed a hidden camera in his room, and alas they discovered Zak was been abused by a care worker.

Footage from the hidden camera exposed Stanley Nkenka, a care worker hitting Zak about the head, calling him a stupid boy and leaving him alone in the dark in tears. He was also seen flicking the teenager in the face with a dressing gown and later warning as he stood over him: "Right, don't come out. If you come, I hit your head."

Nkenka then hits Zak's head again before ending with a veiled threat, pointing at him: "Cross the mark..." At the end of the heartbreaking clip, autistic Zak is heard crying into his pillow in the dark bedroom.

His parents reported to the right authorities and Nkenka who is from Cameroon was charged and now jailed for 6 months.

Zak parents are now launching a campaign for cameras to be installed in all care home bedrooms to stop further abuse.

Wahala wa oo. But seriously, I wish the president can put a stop to this national embarrassment. These are our leaders, fathers, husbands, they represent Nigeria, come on…

So there was chaos in the National Assembly complex this morning as the Speaker of the House of Representatives,  Aminu Tambuwal  and other members of the House were denied access to the assembly complex by security officials.

Reports say teargas canisters were fired by the police to stop some members from gaining access into the assembly complex, including the speaker. It was so messy, and the pictures say it all. There's also a video below that shows how the speaker and his supporters forced their way in despite the teargas attack. It's just sad, Continue below...

The Presidency today has backed the Inspector – General of Police, Suleiman Abba who ordered  heavily armed security operatives to block the National Assembly Complex where Speaker Aminu Tambuwal and other lawmakers were prevented from gaining access to the House to preside over the deliberation on the extension of emergency rule in the North-East,  Vanguard reports.

According to the Presidency, the Inspector- General of Police was not only carrying out his constitutional functions in his capacity as the number one police officer, but also carried out the assignment to protect lives and property, just as it described yesterday's incident as unfortunate.

Addressing Journalists yesterday, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe who noted that Suleiman Abba never invaded the National Assembly, but barricaded it said,  "Assumption (on whether the police boss was acting on instruction from the President) should stop. The IGP is a very senior officer of the government and his duties are to enforce the law.

"He doesn't need to get the villa to enforce the law. He is not a house boy. Though he works under the government but he is expected to defend the law. IGP has the duty to enforce the law. He acted in the discharge of his duty.  The IGP didn't invade the assembly. It is wrong to assume that."

" The whole scenario at the National Assembly today as we witnessed is rather unfortunate. We wish that at all times; national interest should supersede all other interests including personal and political interests.

"From Government perspective, the overriding concern today is the issue of insurgency which necessitated the request by Mr President that the National Assembly considers an extension of the State of Emergency to give the Security forces the needed legal framework and space for a successful prosecution of the war against Boko Haram terrorists.

All I can say is wow wow wow…  Oh my God, If you read this 'warning' to Governor Fayose, you really won't like to be him right now. Come on, Governor Oshiomole isn't even nice when it comes to using words... Oh well...

The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday urged his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Ayodele Fayose, not to drag his (Oshiomhole) name into the "political gangsterism that has become peculiar with the Ekiti State Governor."

Oshiomhole spoke in reaction to a statement credited to the Ekiti Governor that he (Oshiomhole) shut down the Edo State House of Assembly and relocated sitting to the Government House.

The Edo Governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said that there was no crisis in state assembly, adding that 15 of the 24-member Assembly were members of the All Progressives Congress, while the other nine were of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He explained that of the nine PDP members, three were on suspension while the seat of another member had been declared vacant, which he said reduced the number of PDP lawmakers in the house.

While noting that decorum, respect and responsibility were elements of governance, Oshiomhole urged his Ekiti counterpart to "stop dropping the name of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to shore up his jaded image."

Oshiomhole said, "We find it utterly laughable and as the height of political childishness for the Ekiti State Governor to hide behind his media aides and seek to drag the name of the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, into his crude gangster tactics which he has re-introduced into Ekiti politics, less than two months after assuming office.

"If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes.

"Even a kindergarten knows that 15 is greater than 5. So if five PDP members decide to sit with three suspended members and another, whose seat was declared vacant in a chamber which is undergoing renovation, then we can at best regard that as the height of crass legislative irresponsibility.

"It is ridiculous to even contemplate that the Ekiti Governor and his media aides do not know that 15 is greater than five! For sure, they seem engrossed with their stomach infrastructure mantra, such a dubious contraption which can only be contrived by an ideologically clueless and gluttonous administration.

"But for the kind of democracy we practice in Nigeria, where the PDP promotes and condones all manners of illegalities, inanities and shenanigans which have become the second nature of that party, Ayodele Fayose would have been cooling off his heels in gaol rather than brandishing the appellation of being a Governor.

"We are thoroughly ashamed that Ekiti, hitherto known as the fountain of knowledge, is being reduced to a mindless bubble by a man running her affairs without a discernible direction like a drowning man clutching desperately at flotsam.

Even though INEC announced few days ago that any presidential candidate who spend over N1b on campaign will be jailed, ThisDay Newspaper reports that former Head of State and one of the presidential aspirants seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari has flagged- off an initiative to pull campaign fund from amongst his supporters in the country which will help him raise at least N7b.

The aim of the initiative is to raise about N7 billion from an estimated 70 million party supporters and admirers who will be expected to contribute a minimum of N100 each.

Addressing a group of young supporters under the aegis of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Buhari said he decided to buy into the initiative because of the in-built mechanism for ensuring accountability and transparency in its operations.

"What makes it worthy of praise is the fact that the initiative comes with its in-built mechanism for ensuring acceptability that is also transparency -friendly. If we preach accountability we should be able to practice it.
