Nollywood actor accuses girlfriend of Ebola, throws MMA into panic

 The General Aviation Terminal GAT  of Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Lagos was thrown into confusion yesterday August 29  when Chris Bassey who claimed to be an actor  alleged that  his girlfriend, Mary Ogechi who was onboard an Arik Air Enugu – Lagos bound flight had been infected with Ebola virus.

TheNation reports that passengers were soaked in tension and anxiety when the aircraft carrying the suspected victim, a lady, arrived Lagos from Enugu at about 2pm. The aircraft was given a medical emergency landing and clearance following a call the airline received from Enugu that one of the passengers on board the flight has been infected with the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.

On arrival of the aircraft at the domestic wing of the Lagos Airport, the lady ; an Enugu based nurse, was subjected to screening for Ebola. Ensuing from the confusion , all passengers and crew members that arrived on that flight were tested by a medical team from Port Health Services, the airline and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) officials.

Investigations revealed that no one tested positive of the Ebola Virus.

It was later learnt the false alarm arose from a call made by a young man, said to be an actor, that his ex- lover the nurse was infected by the Ebola Virus Disease. Their relationship had hit the rocks after she allegedly found a new suitor. The young man was said to have been heart broken when he found out.

A source told TheNation:

"When he came to her residence on Thursday with the intention to pass the night with her, she was said to have refused. It was on the strength of that disappointment, that he threatened to deal with her, after he got to know she was on her way to Lagos.

The young lady it was learnt got into a relationship with the ex- lover less than a month ago before the romance went sour. Sources hinted that the young lady was taken in a yellow van belonging to FAAN aviation security officials to the Port Health Services located near the airport for further test.
